A senior executive of one of Capcon Argen’s corporate clients was kidnapped whilst on a business trip to Colombia. Fortunately, aware that he was a high-risk target, he had recently undergone a Capcon Argen course in kidnap survival. He was therefore prepared for the various stages of the crime: traumatic capture; discomfort during transportation; extended detention; lack of contact with the outside world and frequent high-low mood swings.
Capcon Argen deployed consultants to Colombia to liaise with the necessary entities, ensuring that the negotiation process was conducted correctly and with the sole aim of securing the executive’s safe release. Despite being detained in a remote location, the executive was better equipped with the skills to cope with the stress. After eight weeks, he was released and Capcon Argen facilitated the de-briefing and counselling. He was subsequently able to re-integrate quickly into family and work life.
